WOW jason thats sweet i know your movie was popular but WOW
April 4th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
Why can’t anyone mention The Cloak or Spatula Madness instead of Charlie the unicorn(and over the hedge is a really bad movie).
April 4th, 2007 at 12:54 pm
Crazyness! Woah
April 4th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
Charlie is now an official media reference. Bravo, old boy!
April 4th, 2007 at 1:47 pm

April 4th, 2007 at 4:09 pm
I say sue!
April 4th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
I say you could make a ton of money off of Charlie… do you have rights to everything in the movie? Cuz if you do, you could be askin’ them for the big bucks!
Still that thing in the comic is irrelevant, yet hilarious that they did that..
April 4th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
Spatula madness and The Cloak are great movies, ALOT better than Charlie the unicorn, so I wonder why its so much more popular!
Jason: did you ever imagine (intend) that Charlie would be such a hit?

April 4th, 2007 at 5:43 pm
A comic strip reference! Charlie is big stuff! Hmm… I always thought Liopleurodon was spelled Leopluridon. Not that it matters. I didn’t even know there was an Over the Hedge comic.
April 4th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
If only you put up all your animated vids on newgrounds you’d be in all the popular comics
April 4th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
I’ve heard of the CG movie.
..oh and OMG
April 4th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
Wow. That’s really cool! Charlie the Unicorn mentioned in a comic strip made by two guys that inspired a well-known movie about talking animals that want food.
Now, I wish to see Spatula Madness get referenced someplace totally unexpected..
April 4th, 2007 at 7:34 pm
Hmmm, I like it.
I used to have an Uncle Louie…he died in 2004 on Valentine’s Day.
April 4th, 2007 at 7:47 pm
Kaycie, it’s only a matter of time before Spatula Madness is an often occurring social centerpiece.
April 4th, 2007 at 8:33 pm
Haha, oh wow. That’s great.
April 4th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
Oh my GODNESS!!!!! I saw this in the paper this morning and was freaking out…heheheh.
Jason, this is pretty amazing. You know you’re famous when comic strips make refrences to you
April 4th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
That is awesome. Had Charlie not been mentioned I probably wouldn’t have laughed at that comic XD
April 4th, 2007 at 8:46 pm

Kevinaz Said:
“Spatula madness and The Cloak are great movies, ALOT better than Charlie the unicorn, so I wonder why its so much more popular!”
It’s more popular because it’s pretty much instant humour and everyone else in the world is an idiot and doesn’t have the patience for the great movies that are Spatula Madness and The Cloak. I’m not saying Charlie and his fellow kidney-stealing unicorns aren’t funny, but that’s just why it’s so popular–aside from the fact that just everything in it is so genius but totally… random… like mythical family guy.
Not really.
Sort of.
April 6th, 2007 at 12:38 am
Wow, that’s pretty wow, Jason. But the question on everyone’s minds is still how do YOU feel about all this Charlie the Unicorn, non-you related publicity?
April 6th, 2007 at 9:16 am
SUE THEM!!!!!!
you’ll get more attention….
April 6th, 2007 at 11:37 am
lol
April 6th, 2007 at 1:12 pm
Adding onto Dom, if all you haven’t noticed, the internet works like this:
You get a random idea.
You make a short movie thats even more random.
You add a catchy song that you make yourself.
Make sure the movie is mildly stupid (Not saying Charlie is).
Post on the internet.
Instant fame.
Seriously, look how fast Kelly’s Shoes blew up…
April 6th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
you could so sue them and get millions upon millions of dollars in da bank homes, i get a 10 percent idea fee however4
April 6th, 2007 at 5:46 pm
hey yea, sue them! they stole your idea! only the fans of over the hedge would be mad at you, thats not many, only like 20,000. i think…. im bad with numbers
April 6th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
i hate that everyone loves charlie but they havnt heard of jason…
and the cloak is dabest
April 6th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
What kind of wacom tablet do you have?
April 7th, 2007 at 9:11 am
It’s a shame you yourself don’t get much publicity. When you release Spatula Madness you should say ‘From the creator of Charlie The Unicorn’ and post it aaaallll over the internet. Smear it in their faces like a moist burger.

Oh, BTW, the links not working anymore.
April 7th, 2007 at 11:26 pm
Wow…just wow….Charlie the Unicorn is just getting uncontrollable popularity. Now if only everyone who knew about Charlie knew about you, and filmcow.com…
April 7th, 2007 at 11:36 pm

You do realise that that would mean that Jason wouldn’t be able to sell it on DVD, because it would already be on the internet, right? But otherwise, that’s a pretty good idea.
April 8th, 2007 at 6:16 am
I meant on the trailer. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear.
April 8th, 2007 at 9:03 am
Pierre- Oh, right. Now that’s a little different. I haven’t even been thinking about that. I wonder if jason’s actually working on that yet? I wonder because I know if I ask him, he’ll give me a response irrelevant to the question, or just totally ignore me. Oh well. So Jason, how’s that trailer going?
April 8th, 2007 at 1:30 pm
when you released charlie the unicorn you did put a link to filmcow.com in the credits, right?
April 8th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
I am tired of Charlie the Unicorn. I really am. I only watched it because I thought Spatula Madness was funny, and at the time I thought Charlie was also funny. But so many people have seen it! It’s like “oh have you seen Charlie the unicorn?” and I say “yes I have, Jason Steele is the man” and there like “Who? I thought was made by funnyxofunny2313 on youtube!” no one knows spatula madness or the cloak or repent, which I think are much funnier and better made than charlie the unicorn.

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I’m also a Florida filmmaker (well more of a vlogger, but I’m going to start doing shorts in the summer, and I made a few shorts in my film classes), and I stumbled on to filmcow.com a year ago and I thought “damn this stuff is funny” and then I found you again through Knox. I love your stuff. You make me want to make more films.
April 8th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
Now that should have COPYRIGHT JASON STEELE on
April 8th, 2007 at 5:41 pm
How old are you jason please tell me.
April 8th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
seriously….the Steelemeister (meister?) needs a lot more credit for Charlie. i say fight, fight, FIGHT!! until everyone knows that Charlie the Unicorn was created by Jason Steele! the internet war part II: Revenge of the uncredited/unknown/unpopular but still popular even though no one knows who you are….. yeah. we should totally fight….someone.
April 8th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
kkkiller
April 8th, 2007 at 8:38 pm
DrGie, i seriously know how you feel. Not that I don’t like Charlie anymore, it just pisses me off when people at school saw it once and are all obsessed with it like “OMG!!! HAVE YOU SEEN IT??!?!!!!??111?!!?!?2?!!” When then have only seen it a few times so you try having a conversation about it and Jason and they are just “Dowy?”
Pisses me off… Stop being so damned funny Jason!!
April 8th, 2007 at 8:52 pm
It does annoy me that Charlie the Unicorn is getting so much fame and most of the fans don’t even know about Jason Steele and his other excellent (and in my opinion, better) movies. This kid on my bus told me once “Hey, I found this video on the internet called Charlie the Unicorn and I thought you’d like it” I was thinking of all sorts of things about how I’m a huge fan of Jason and filmcow and how he could’ve thought I didn’t know about it. Some other guy on my bus thought it was made by some fat guy with no life XD (that does not reflect my opinion…) It just shows how many people don’t bother looking at the credits.
April 8th, 2007 at 11:30 pm
Wow. When will people get over it?
April 9th, 2007 at 2:13 am
Good for you, but as for the comic? What the hell? I don’t get it.
April 9th, 2007 at 5:35 am
Jason, do you find it annoying that all your fans talk about how much you deserve more credit for the movie, or do you actually agree with us?
April 9th, 2007 at 6:12 am
Don’t use my name. Come on, be mature.
April 9th, 2007 at 6:52 am
I’m glad to see that people agree with me. I saw xharlie the unicorn not because it was popular, but because spatula madness was damn funny I wanted to watch some of Jason’s other work. and Jason, stop giving us updates on how populart Charlie is! it says “spatula madness production blog” not “How Popular Charlie the unicorn.. blog” I think you should make a new blog dedicated to charlie, rather than getting our hopes up with new posts that at first seem like news on sm, but then we are crushed with the news of charlie
April 9th, 2007 at 3:19 pm
Where I live no one even watchs Jasons stuff a lot of people are obsessed with Knox’s stuff and when I ask them ” Do you like Knox’s work” there like ” Who the hell is Knox”. No one knows about charlie and I don’t show it to my friends because they would think it was made by a girl or a gay guy( but Charlie definetly isn’t my favorite I’ve only watched it maybe 3 times and seen everything else, besides A man and his elephant, 5 times).
What I don’t get is that the credits are like 5 seconds long so (because hardly any body knows about you) some people must really have short attention spans not to wait 5 seconds before they do something else.
April 9th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
what the heck is this?
April 9th, 2007 at 10:10 pm
Eric the Derek!! LETS DO THIS!!!
April 10th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
awesomez!!!!
April 10th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
Penguinman- The really funny thing is that the first thing that comes up in the credits is “Made By Jason Steele”
April 10th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
Penguin Man… random question…
Is your name Jimmy?
I hope someone got that reference… And you didn’t you all suck!
April 11th, 2007 at 12:10 am
Congrats man, this thing is getting you national mentions. Nice =]
April 11th, 2007 at 7:58 pm
Copyright or Trademark it youll be like rich and famous and stuff. Youll get recognition for it too. I cant believe Charlie the Unicorn didnt win at the YouTube awards.
April 12th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
James- The only reason he didn’t win is becasue Jason has never actually uploaded it to YouTube. At least, that’s my explanation.
April 12th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
That is the greatest thing ever.
April 13th, 2007 at 5:57 am
Jason, how long had Charlie been around before you realised that so many people had heard of it and it became a really big thing?
April 13th, 2007 at 10:48 pm
Shun the non-believer shuuuun
April 14th, 2007 at 11:10 am
Haha, thats awesome
God Charlie is getting so popular. It’s sad because most people don’t even know that it was you that made it. :[
Maybe in the future you should think about a Charlie movie ;D
April 15th, 2007 at 10:59 am
Jason. Come on, answer some of are questions.
April 15th, 2007 at 3:01 pm
Most of these questions have been answered.
And the rest are stupid. STUPID.
April 15th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
i thought Charlie The Unicorn was SOOOOOOOOOOOO funny i was laughing my head off! My mom was watching also so we were laughing our heads off. But the part i liked most of all was when the letters were singing ( That is the part my mom and I were laughing our heads off ). Then at the end I kept repeating ” Hey they took my freaking kidney! “
April 15th, 2007 at 8:19 pm
Thats like asking why everyone hates clowns…
April 15th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
I know charlie the Unicorn is funny but i mean !come on!? I thought it was copyrighted? well. Jason should upload Charlie the Unicorn on to Youtube and mabey he may win an award!
April 16th, 2007 at 12:41 am
Jason, watch out for the fire?
April 16th, 2007 at 2:52 am
hey jason, are you going to make secret agaent bob?
April 16th, 2007 at 9:16 pm
I know this has nothing to do with Spatula Madness/Filmcow but go to Funny or Die should be on front page it has Will Ferrel its pretty funny(at least to me). I didn’t check out any of the other videos so tell me (if you watch any) what videos are good or bad.
April 17th, 2007 at 3:10 am
el josho- uhhhhhhhhhh… do you mean remake? Because he made that ages ago, but it was on the old stuff part of his site, which he removed (I am making an angry face). It was a pretty funny movie. The ending made little sence and I don’t think the characters accomplished anything, but it was funny. BRING BACK OLD STUFF!
April 17th, 2007 at 7:54 am
Penguin man- I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Some kind of movie?
April 17th, 2007 at 9:31 am
brownie-I agree. Jason should host the old stuff on his site, or at least upload some of them to like youtube. I am constantly quotiing “Repent” so I was sad to see he removed it.
April 17th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
Secret Agent Bob was pretty cool. Although it’s pretty pointless of me saying it wasn’t as good as Spatula Madness or Charlie or Eduardo Spatulahands etc. but it was.
April 17th, 2007 at 8:42 pm
Jason I noticed that towards the end of Knoxcast Ep.46 there was a beeping noise. What was that your new watch?
April 17th, 2007 at 9:36 pm
woooo what happend i liked saw a flash and any way soo whats up oh jason i wanna know were does all your money come From yu have never said any thing about a job so do you like rob a bank o somthing pls answer thank you
April 18th, 2007 at 5:38 am
Jason robbes banks while wearing the flower costume from the Kumquat Eaters. I saw him yesterday. Jason, how come you never put yourself in your live action movies anymore? And to make that question seem more credible; Jason, watch out for the fires?
April 18th, 2007 at 6:02 am
I can only put myself in a live action movie if there’s someone there not on screen that I trust with the camera.
April 18th, 2007 at 9:17 am
Damn, that means I can never direct a movie starring Jason.
April 18th, 2007 at 4:27 pm
well, he is in some movies. Jason, bring back the old movies! or even just have links to them!
April 18th, 2007 at 10:23 pm

April 20th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
yeah, u should bring back some of those old movies, now that you’ve made remakes to some of them (like eduardo and the cloak) I’m interested in re-watching the originals.
April 21st, 2007 at 4:34 am
yay new blog 4 me.
April 22nd, 2007 at 8:59 am
Most of His old flash animations you can watch on Newgrounds.com. I really want him to birng back some of the live action ones like repent.
April 22nd, 2007 at 9:41 am
OMG people!!! More Charlie crazyness! I was listening to the radio this morning and one station was running a commercial about some concert coming up and how you could win a signed guitar… blah blah blah. And that’s when I heard a very familiar unicorn say “Shun the non-believer.” Yeah. In the middle of a concert commercial, they played a bit from Charlie the Unicorn.
So there you have it, Jason. Charlie has made it to an advertisement… on the radio! :O
April 22nd, 2007 at 9:50 am
They used Charlie to advertise a concert? Laammmee.
April 22nd, 2007 at 9:58 am
friedbread- That just makes me more amazed at how big Charlie is getting.
April 22nd, 2007 at 12:25 pm
Wow-this is madness. Who knew a bunch of talking unicorns cold become so popular?
People come up to me all the time, going: CHAAAAAAARRLLIEEE, just because I used the animation in a lecture I was in charge of. Of course, I stressed the fact that I didn’t make the animation, but people still think that unicorns are a new revolution.
April 22nd, 2007 at 1:34 pm
But in ten years time everyone will be thinking ‘Whatever happened to that wierd little cartoon with the unicorn?’ and no one will know… except for Jason and maybe a few hardcore fans. WOOP!
April 22nd, 2007 at 9:33 pm
Wow Jason should sue that radio station for royalties, the music industry’s got SOOO much money! ca-ching, no more budget problems ever again, heh heh.
April 23rd, 2007 at 3:48 am
well, old people say about ‘in their day’ how they used to play hoops and marbles and listened to the beetles, well when we are old we will say how we watched charlie the unicorn.
April 23rd, 2007 at 7:07 am
