I’m sure most of you are familiar with my animated short “Charlie the Unicorn.”

Some answers to questions from the blog comments:
- The DVD cover will be made when the movie is close to being finished.
- When I say “hand drawn” I mean I draw it using a Wacom tablet and Photoshop.
- Most backgrounds take me 4-16 hours depending.
- This has been answered before, but yes there will be audio commentary on the DVD.

See Jason, you do have fans! Strange fans….. The anime one is pretty funny, but the dancing kid is hilarious! Charlie the Unicorn is one of those “so dumb that it’s funny” kind of movies. It makes it hard to forget.
I was trying to figure out how to spell leopluridon so I searched it on Google. Most of the things it came up with had something to do with the movie. So is it a real animal or not?

Jason Thank you so much thanks to you i am able to make cool looking characters and stuff but ive got one negative the backgrounds…I need to make a cubical like background can u go into detail how u make ur backgrounds if not thats cool. Woa….. I felt a really akward feeling while watching them. They were just …. never mind. It’s gotta be nice to feel apreciated though.
It’s crazy how popular it is though, didn’t you only spend 3 days on it? I feel like starting an “Anti Charlie the Unicorn” video campaign. Have you ever seen those klaymations that people esentially rip off knox’s humor, but fail horribly?
Still though alot of those remind me of the videos I made when I was 7-9. They were hideously bad, yet amazingly fun to make. I think my Master peice was “The Lego movie”, ahh nothing quite scream acadamy award like 16 minutes of constant pain to the eyes. “Godzilla the Movie” was pretty top notch as well though.

why would you EVER want a full-length Charlie the Unicorn? I liked the 1st one, but an hour and a half?! Jesus… and its originality that maakes these so great. You don’t want the same stuff over and over again do you? originality is what separates most of hollywood from the indies (…the GOOD indies anyway…)

klayworld wasnt a REALLY long clayman short, it had a plot and unique characters with depth and personality… Charlie the Unicorn was just silly. thats all it ever tried to be and it did a fantastic job at it. but a FULL version? no, Jason is very creative (in the Gary Larson sense of the word

Eh, I’d say 60% or more of the people who post here regularly also post at Knox’s forums, and he set up a Spatula Madness section there. Seems like it would just be repetitive here, but if this site gets any more popular I may set something up.

Bryce for backgrounds, Carrara for modeling, Photoshop for other art, Poser for some character animation (lego guys etc), Final Cut Pro for editing.

I agree with Funky Dragon. The comments have enough people as it is. The idea of having forums here doesn’t really appeal to me. I’m not in the KKF, but from what other people say about it, it seems a bit chaotic. This forum thing is making me nervous.

Well off topic but I figured I’d post it anyway. I took my mac into the Mac Depot to get it fixed finnaly… too bad it looks like it’s going ot be expensive. 99$ an hour for Data recovery is rediculous, theres no way it can be that much work! Oh well at least I’ll be able to get back to my movies.

Yeah, all my good friends love Spatula Madness. I had found a way to get the .Mov of Spatula Madness on my iPod (before the podcast) and showed it to a bunch of people who love it. My friend spencer almost died watching Spatula Madness on my bed, and then laughed himself to sleep during Charlie the Unicorn.
I think you are funnier than Knox in that you use more intelligent humor. But most of the time, it’s just stupid and makes me laugh because if I hear the word “Cabbage” I crack up.
